The Shipibo are Masters of Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca is a Sacred Plant Medicine from the Amazon that when drunk, facilitates great healing. When a Maestro (shaman) drinks Ayahuasca to enable healing in an Ayahuasca Ceremony, he will sing Icaros (Medicine Songs) to the individual seeking healing. In the spirit realm of this visionary, psychedelic plant these Icaros have a vibrational frequency that can be seen by the Maestro. For generations the Shipibo have recorded the visions of Ayahuasca in handwoven tapestries and now also clothes. Tantamunay Shipibo Clothing, work in partnership with the Shipibo Tribe to produce high quality garments that are embroidered with these medicine songs.
Drink the Medicine, Heal with Medicine, Love the Medicine, Wear The Medicine
This Garment is Made to Order available in all Sizes, please check our size chart as a guide
The Skirt is made of 100% cotton and has been hand-embroidered along the bottom edge, which is a beautiful pixie feature. The waist band is made of a cream Viscose/cotton blend which has a stretch to it so there is a flexibility to the sizing. White clothes are the perfect thing to wear for an Ayahuasca Ceremony. When we are preparing our bodies for an Ayahuasca Ceremony we enter into a cleansing process for our bodies to cleanse within, the white clothes on the outside reflect this process and Mother Ayahuasca herself prefers we enter wearing white as its a clean colour. Also some lineages connected to Ayahuasca call for the use of ritualistic clothing to be worn before entering into the Maloca (Ayahuasca Ceremony Space).
